What is wheel straightening or wheel rolling?

Wheel straightening (rolling) is a process used to correct wheel deformations caused by impacts with potholes, curbs, or other road obstacles. Even a slight deviation in the wheel’s geometry can cause vibrations, affect the vehicle’s handling, and accelerate suspension wear.

Straightening is performed on a specialized machine, where the wheel is gradually realigned to its proper shape using hydraulic pressure. The process requires careful handling and precision.

Proper rolling restores the rim’s geometry and ensures a safe, comfortable ride without vibrations or unnecessary strain on the vehicle’s suspension.

When do wheels need straightening?

Wheel straightening (rolling) is necessary when the wheel becomes deformed after impacts with potholes, curbs, or other obstacles, which can lead to:

vibration or instability while driving;
tyre air leakage or poor tire fit;
uneven tyre wear;
suspension issues or wheel bearing wear.

We use specialized hydraulic rolling machines and perform precise measurements beforehand to determine the exact extent of deformation. It is not always possible to repair the damage through rolling — if the wheel is severely deformed or cracked, welding or replacement may be required.

Important to remember – keep in mind that if a wheel has suffered a strong impact but no visible cracks are present, cracks may appear during the rolling process, in which case wheel welding may also be required.
